New swaps in the Blockstream app are temporarily disabled because of a service interruption with our swap partner. Your funds are safe, and everything else in the app continues to work normally.
The Blockstream app uses swaps to move value between networks. Lightning payments settle through swaps between Lightning and Liquid bitcoin (LBTC), and on-chain swaps convert between bitcoin and LBTC. While swaps are unavailable, you cannot create a new swap, send or receive Lightning payments, or swap between bitcoin and LBTC. For background on how these swaps work, see Understand Lightning support in the Blockstream app.
The rest of the app is unaffected. You can still send and receive bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, send and receive LBTC and other Liquid assets, and manage your wallets and settings as usual.
Swaps in the Blockstream app are designed so that your funds stay under your control at every step. If a swap cannot complete, the funds are returned to your wallet automatically. If a swap you started earlier has not completed, see Fix issues with on-chain swaps, or What to do if a wallet, transaction, or swap is not showing in the Blockstream app if you cannot find it.
Note: There is no restoration timeline yet. Updates are posted on Blockstream's official social channels, and this article will be updated when swaps are available again.
If you need help with a specific swap, the fastest way to reach support is from inside the app, because the report includes your logs. Open the app, go to the Settings tab, tap Support, enter your email and a short description, keep Share Logs checked, and tap Submit. Do not include your recovery phrase, PIN, or any 2FA codes. Support will never ask for them.
