The Blockstream app allows you to set up a bitcoin wallet with just a few taps. Following the standard setup flow, you will create a mobile wallet with private keys stored on your mobile device. This is ideal for beginners with smaller amounts of bitcoin and for those looking for easy, convenient spending.

Open the Blockstream app and select Get Started to create a new mobile (software) wallet.
Note: If you have a Jade hardware device, choose Connect Jade instead to get set up.

Tap Setup Mobile Wallet to create a new Bitcoin wallet. By default, the Blockstream app will secure your wallet with your device biometrics and prompt a biometrics scan at this time (i.e. FaceID). If biometrics are not enabled or the app does not have permission, you can set up a PIN instead.
Tip: If you'd like to use a recovery phrase that you've already generated from another wallet, select Restore from backup.

The Blockstream app will then generate your private keys. Tap Continue to proceed.

Your wallet is now ready for use! You can begin purchasing, receiving, and sending bitcoin.
Warning: At this point, the keys to your bitcoin wallet are only stored on this device. If you lose or break this phone, there is no way to access your funds unless you have backed up your recovery phrase.
