The Blockstream app is self-custodial, which means that you have full control over your funds, private keys, and recovery data. Because of this, deleting or removing a wallet from your device can be permanent if you do not have your recovery phrase.
Before You Begin
Your recovery phrase is critical. Before deleting or removing a wallet, make sure you have your recovery phrase written down and stored safely.
- Your recovery phrase is typically a 12- or 24-word phrase shown when you first create the wallet.
- This phrase is the only way to restore your wallet and regain access to your funds.
- If you delete a wallet and do not have the recovery phrase, the wallet will never be accessible again.
Blockstream cannot recover your recovery phrase or access your funds for you.

Deleting Wallet Data from Blockstream Jade (Factory Reset)
If you are using a Blockstream Jade hardware wallet, performing a factory reset will erase all wallet data stored on the device.
After a factory reset, you will need your 12- or 24-word recovery phrase to restore your wallet on Jade or in the Blockstream app. Without the recovery phrase, the wallet and its funds cannot be recovered.
