The Security tab of the Blockstream App allows users to change the methods of unlocking their wallets, back up their recovery phrase, and more. The Security tab is the second choice from the right on the bottom navigation bar of the app.
On the Security screen, users can choose to enable or disable wallet unlocking methods such as FaceID and a PIN number. This is also the section of the app where the wallet recovery phrase can be accessed.
- FaceID: If you'd like to use FaceID to unlock your wallet, make sure it's enabled in your device's system settings first. FaceID must be turned on at the OS level for it to work within the app.
- PIN: The PIN is a locally stored security feature. It will not transfer across devices—even if you're restoring your wallet on a new phone. You’ll need to set up a new PIN after restoring with your recovery phrase.
Note: In addition to keeping your PIN number and recovery phrase secure from others, it's also important to make sure they are remembered or properly backed up for your own use. Remember, you will lose access to your bitcoin and other assets if you are unable to unlock your wallet and do not have access to your recovery phrase.
