Blockstream Jade is a hardware wallet that stores the recovery phrase for your Bitcoin and/or Liquid wallets. Hardware wallets increase the security of your funds because the private keys needed to spend your bitcoin or Liquid assets are on a specialized device made specifically to protect them. Storing your recovery phrase on other devices can open up additional attack vectors, so it is recommend to use a hardware wallet for additional security.

*2FA Protected accounts allow to protect against several different attacks which may cause software wallets to be more vulnerable. The option to add a 2FA method with Multisig Shield makes Blockstream Green an excellent software wallet option. However, 2FA Protected accounts can also be used with Jade wallets for yet another form of protection.
Using Jade with Blockstream Green
Blockstream Jade is a device for storing your private keys, so you will still need to connect it to another platform in order to show your receiving addresses and spend your funds. We recommend Blockstream Green, but Jade support is available on other platforms as well (e.g. Electrum).

After setting up your Jade with Blockstream Green, you can begin receiving, sending, and securely storing your bitcoin and Liquid assets.
