The Blockstream app has integrated the Lightning Network to enable fast, low-fee bitcoin payments.
Note: Lightning is currently in beta. Payments can occasionally fail or take longer than expected, especially during network updates. Make sure Lightning is enabled on your wallet before you start, and see Understand Lightning support in the Blockstream app for what to expect.
Receive Lightning bitcoin
1.
Go to the Transact tab, then tap Receive.
2.
In the Asset field, switch the receiving asset from Bitcoin to Lightning Bitcoin.
3.
Enter the bitcoin amount you want to receive over Lightning.
Note: Tap BTC next to the Amount field to change the denomination to sats, USD, or another option.
4.
Share the displayed Lightning invoice with the sender.
Once the sender pays the invoice, the bitcoin arrives in your Lightning balance.
Send Lightning bitcoin
1.
Go to the Transact tab, then tap Send.
2.
Enter the recipient's Lightning address or invoice.
3.
Enter the amount of Lightning bitcoin you want to send.
4.
Confirm the transaction details, then Slide to Send.
Once the payment completes, the amount leaves your Lightning balance.
