Blockstream Jade offers a Bluetooth connection for users to conveniently communicate with their Blockstream Green companion app on mobile devices. Bluetooth is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled by the user in order to turn it on.
Some users may prefer to turn off this communication method - so we offer two different ways to disable Bluetooth on Jade:
- Turn off Bluetooth in Jade settings: Users can disable Bluetooth by navigating to Options -> Device -> Bluetooth when logged into their Jade.
- Flash the "No-Radio" firmware variant to Jade: When upgrading Jade, users will be presented with a "No-Radio" firmware option. This firmware version does not include any of the drivers needed to communicate via Bluetooth, rendering the radio hardware useless. This option should be chosen for users who do not want Jade to be capable of communicating wirelessly at all.
