Jade offers a Bluetooth connection for users to conveniently communicate with the Blockstream app app on mobile devices. Bluetooth is disabled by default and you must enable it to turn it on.
Some users may prefer to turn off this communication method—so we offer two different ways to disable Bluetooth on Jade:
- Turn off Bluetooth in Jade settings: If enabled, you can can disable Bluetooth by navigating to Options → Device → Settings → Bluetooth when logged in to your Jade.
- Flash the "No-Radio" firmware variant to Jade: When upgrading Jade, you will be presented with a "No-Radio" firmware option. This firmware version does not include any of the drivers needed to communicate via Bluetooth, rendering the radio hardware useless. This option should be chosen for users who do not want Jade to be capable of communicating wirelessly at all.
