Because the Liquid Network uses Confidential Transactions to improve your privacy, certain details of Liquid transactions are only visible to the two parties involved in a transaction. By default, third parties cannot see the asset type and amount transferred.
If you wish to share the "blinded" information of a transaction with a third party, for example an arbitrator on a peer-to-peer trading platform, you have the option to do so using your unblinding data.
The unblinding data reveals different information depending on whether you are the sender or receiver:
- Sender: the amount and assets sent and the change received (if any).
- Receiver: the amount and assets received.
Unblinding data is unique to each transaction and can only be used to share the blinded details of that transaction.
Warning: Anyone with your unblinding data can access the transaction amount and asset type of your transaction. Only disclose your unblinding data to parties you trust, and never share it in public.
Blockstream Green offers two methods to share your unblinding data:
- Share your unblinding data via Blockstream Explorer: the easiest way to reveal your transactional details, using a link to Blockstream Explorer.
- Copy your raw unblinding data: an advanced method that allows you to unblind your transaction using your own esplora-based explorer.
Share Your Unblinding Data via Blockstream Explorer
The simplest way to share your transactional data is to directly unblind it via Blockstream Explorer. This method allows you to generate a unique link within your Blockstream Green application that includes the unblinding data required for a third party to verify the details of your transaction. Once entered into a browser, Blockstream Explorer will automatically use the included data to reveal the relevant information.
While it might seem like this makes your blinded data publicly viewable, it actually doesn't: anyone who looks up your transaction normally via Blockstream Explorer will always see the transacted amount and asset as "confidential." The confidential details of your transaction can only be revealed using the link that includes your unblinding data.

4.
You and anyone with access to your link with can now directly paste the URL into their browser to open Blockstream Explorer and view your unblinded transaction data.
Copy Your Raw Unblinding Data
Instead of generating a Blockstream Explorer link, you can also directly copy your raw unblinding data and either send it to a third party as is or share it via your own esplora-based explorer. This option is only recommended for more advanced users, as it requires certain technical knowledge to reveal your transactional details using your raw unblinding data.
