Blockstream Green wallets do not "expire" and can be accessed at any time after their creation.
How you restore an old wallet depends on the application you used to create your wallet, as well as the access you currently have to that wallet.
How to Access Your Old Wallet
If Your Wallet Is Still Accessible Through One of Your Devices
If you can still access your wallet through the Blockstream Green application on one of your devices, you can simply use the PIN associated with your wallet on that device to log in.
If Your Wallet Is Not Accessible Through Any Of Your Devices or You Forgot Your PIN
If You Can't Access Your Wallet Through Any of Your Devices and Lost Your Recovery Phrase
If you don't have the Blockstream Green apps installed and you don't have access to your 24-word recovery phrase, there is no way to restore your wallet.
If You Lost Your Recovery Phrase But Can Prove Your Identity
Information on your identity cannot help you recover your wallet as your identity is not connected to your wallet.
Since Blockstream Green is a non-custodial service, we never track our users' identities. We do not know your name, date of birth, or other identifying information, so providing that information to us is not useful.
Ownership of a wallet is only determined by the possession of the wallet's recovery phrase and the ability to confirm its two-factor authentication method.
At Blockstream, we never know your recovery phrase and cannot help you restore your wallet without it.
If You Created Your Wallet Using GreenAddress or GreenBits
Blockstream will end support for the old wallet applications built using non-GDK infrastructure on January 4th, 2021. The following applications will be affected:
- GreenAddress web wallet
- GreenBits on Android
- GreenAddress on Android and iOS (WalletCordova)
- GreenAddress on desktop (WalletElectron)
