There are several reasons why you could be seeing the "Wallet not found" message when restoring a recovery phrase, depending on the security policy of your wallet. You will need to select the security policy you chose during setup.
Tip: Any wallet created with Blockstream Green before September 2021 is a Multisig Shield wallet.
Singlesig Wallet
- This wallet has not been used or there is no balance to restore: Try entering other recovery phrases you may have backed up to see if you can find the wallet you are looking for.
- The recovery phrase is being restored on the wrong network: Restore by selecting Liquid and Testnet in case your wallet is being used on another network.
- The recovery phrase length is incorrect: Recovery phrases can be either 12, 24, or 27 words long. Make sure to select the correct length and enter each word in the right order.
Note: If you do not see the Testnet option, you will need to enable Testnet in App Settings.
If you are convinced you are entering the correct recovery phrase and are still receiving this message, you can continue by selecting Manual Restore.
If you do not see your funds and think there could be a problem with Blockstream Green, you are free to restore your recovery phrase to another wallet platform (e.g. Electrum) to check this. Make sure to select BIP39 as the Seed type when restoring on Electrum.
Multisig Shield Wallet
- The recovery phrase does not match a wallet on our server: The wallets for Bitcoin, Liquid and Testnet are completely separate, so try restoring on each of these networks.
- The recovery phrase length is incorrect: Recovery phrases can be either 12, 24, or 27 words long. Make sure to select the correct length and enter each word in the right order.
Note: If you do not see the Testnet option, you will need to enable Testnet in App Settings.
If you are still receiving the "Wallet not found" message, trying restoring on another version of Blockstream Green (desktop or mobile) in case there is an issue with your device. If the message displays on each platform, your recovery phrase does not match a wallet on our server.
It may be that your recovery phase was generated by different wallet software (e.g. Electrum), so you may also try restoring on platforms you may have used in the past.
