QR Scan is a function available on Blockstream Jade that allows users to communicate with their companion app using Jade's camera and QR codes (instead of USB or Bluetooth). Note: For a fully air-gapped workflow, users should access a Jade session using a QR Mode login method. QR Scan Functionality QR Scan is capable of performing several functions. Verifying Addresses: Scan a QR code of a bitcoin address and Jade will verify whether or not it belongs to your wallet. Reading and Signing PSBTs: When Jade detects a PSBT, it will parse the information received and allow you to sign the transaction on your device. After signing, Jade will display the transaction as a series of QR codes that can be scanned by your compatible wallet app for broadcasting. Register Multisig Configurations: Save your multisig wallet details to Jade to verify receive and change addresses. Sign Messages: Scan a message and sign it using Jade's key, compatible with Specter Desktop. Comparison of Communication Methods Using Jade with either USB or Bluetooth may remain the best experience for many users. However, using Scan to communicate via QR codes has several benefits compared to Jade's traditional connection methods.
