# Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs)

A class of mathematical functions that allow someone to prove they know something about a hidden value without revealing that value. 

[Bulletproofs](https://help.blockstream.com/education/glossary/bulletproofs), Bulletproofs++,[ zk-STARKS](https://help.blockstream.com/education/glossary/starks), and [zk-SNARKS](https://help.blockstream.com/education/glossary/snarks) are all examples of different ZKP techniques. Each offers different trade-offs and has distinct advantages and disadvantages. There is no one-size-fits-all ZKP solution.
